学文化、启心智 、达至善 | 平顶山新城区基础英语素质教育研讨会侧记

秋天的芸草仍有春天时的绿意,枫叶校园淡紫的木槿花也独秀其香。在这秋雨藏诗的季节里,我们成功地举行了由平顶山新城区教体局主办、平顶山枫叶国际学校承办的“平顶山市新城区基础英语素质教育研讨会”,本次研讨会的主题为《典范英语绘本教学实操》。
As the herbs display the greenness in autumn, the hibiscus flowers make the campus fragrant. On October 14, the Elementary Quality English Education Seminar hosted by PDS Xincheng District EPEB was successfully held in Maple Leaf International School-Pingdingshan.The theme of the seminar is how to teach Good English picture books.
上午九时,在学校四楼报告厅,由北京外国语大学典范英语课题组专家连艳普老师主持,枫叶国际学校副校长蒋玉强先生带领全体英语教师参会。同时,新城区其它兄弟学校的全体英语教师同步观看会议直播。

Ms. Lian Yanpu, expert from BFSU Good English Research Group,hosted the training. Mr. David Jiang, vice principal of MLIS-PDS, and all English teachers participated. Meanwhile, the English teachers watched the live broadcast by Tik Tok.

在会议开始之前,连老师对Teacher Ashley 的公开课《Monkey Tricks》做了准确、中肯的点评:肯定了本节课打破先学单词、句式的旧模式,践行了围绕故事整进整出的课堂理念,建议低年级学生要学会通过指读的方式强化音形对照关系。

Before the training, Ms. Lian gave positive and constructive comments on Teacher Ashley’s demo “Monkey Tricks”.  The teacher utilized the entire teaching method to break the old teaching mode of teaching vocabularies and sentence patterns first, which was highly thought of by Ms. Lian. She also suggested that students in lower grades should use fingers to point at the words to contrast the pronunciations and forms while reading.



在接下来的培训中,连老师引用许国璋先生的观点指出了英语教育的本质:“英语教育即用英语来学文化、启心智、达至善,提升学生英语核心素养。”这与国家提出的培养学生的核心素养是高度一致的。

During the training, Ms. Lian quoted Mr. Xu Guozhang’s philosophy on the essence of English education, which is used to promote students’ English core competences. This is highly congenial with the national student core competences.



大量的英文作品的阅读和输入让许国璋先生对英语学习经历有“无心造句句子自成”的感慨;吕叔湘先生提到“Read Dramatically”的阅读方法,能让学生们对故事中的人物有更深层次的理解。

Plenty of reading English classical works gave a successful experience of learning English. Mr. Lv Shuxiang mentioned the method of reading dramatically, which leads students to deeper understanding of the characters in the story.



连老师从阅读入手,结合家校联合阅读以及绘本、创写等实际的教学案例指出:
1. 以读为本,大量阅读英语文学作品是学好英语的最佳途径。
2. 大量真实的略高于学习者现有水平的语言输入可实现语言习得。
3. 通过整体输入——整体内化——整体输出的整体学习方法,从而完成对故事文本的深度学习。
Ms. Lian proposed the following ways to promote reading:
1. Reading more English literature works is the best approach.
2. Select a bit more challenging books for the students.

3. Complete deeper study by the method of the entire input-the entire internalization-the entire output.



在谈到具体的课堂教学时,连老师特别强调了看图讲故事、听录音模仿、戏剧化朗读、拼读训练等方法,这些方法不仅能激发学生的学习兴趣,更提升了学生的语言能力、思维能力和文化素养。
When it comes to the teaching, she mentioned the specific methods of story telling by using pictures, imitating, reading dramatically and phonics. These methods arouse the interest of the students and promote the competences of language, thinking and culture awareness as well.
教师们认真聆听了会议内容,在互动环节中,大家就自己在教学实践中所遇到的问题虚心向连老师请教,连老师也耐心地为大家答疑解惑。

All teachers actively participate in the training. In the interactive part, Ms. Lian answered all the questions the teachers met in daily teaching.



以此次英语研讨会为坐标,相信参会的老师既开阔了教学思路,也激发了教学灵感。蒋校长把这次研讨会称为一场“及时雨”,不仅对枫叶教师的英语教学有高屋建瓴的指导作用,而且对整个平顶山地区的英语教学、科研水平提升都有着重要的战略意义。
This seminar not only broadens the views of the teachers, but also arouses their inspiration. Mr. Jiang called it a timely rain, which is a guide to the English teaching at Maple Leaf. It also has great strategic significance of improving the English teaching and research in Pingdingshan.
